LET US PRAY: O, Saint Jude Thaddeus, cousin of Jesus Christ, glorious apostle and martyr, renowned for virtues and miracles, faithful and prompt intercessor of all who honor you and trust in you. You are a power patron and helper in grievous afflictions. I come to you and entreat you from the depths of my heart to come to my aid with your powerful intercession, for you have received from God the privilege to assist those who almost despair of all hope. Look down upon me, my life is a life of crosses; my days are days of tribulation; and my paths are strewn with thorns, and scarcely one moment passes but is a witness of my tears and sighs.
Overwhelmed by these thoughts, I see myself surrounded by a dark cloud. You can not forsake me in this sad plight. I will not depart from you until you have heard me. O hasten to my aid. St. Jude, glorious apostle, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the person (who betrayed our Lord) has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the true Church invokes you universally as the Patron of the desperate. Pray for me, who is miserable; pray for me, that I may finally receive the consolations and the succor of Heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly (add your personal request here), and that I may bless God with the Elect Throughout Eternity. SECOND DAY:
O most holy apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, people honor and invoke you universally, as the patron of hopeless cases. Pray for me, for I am so helpless and alone. Please help me to bring visible and speedy assistance. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings. I promise, O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you. Amen. THE LITANY TO ST. THIRD DAY:
Holy Saint Jude, Apostle and martyr, great in virtue and rich in miracles, close friend of Jesus Christ, faithful intercessor of all who invoke your special patronage in time of need. To you I have recourse from the depths of my heart and humbly beg to whom God has given such great power to come to my assistance. Help me in my present situation. FOURTH DAY:
Blessed Apostle St. Jude, we call upon you for help in hope and utmost confidence. St. Jude renowned help of the hopeless, come to my aid in this time of distress. St. Jude, cousin of our Lord, obtain from our Savior the favors I now need and seek. Glorious St. Jude with faith in your goodness I ask your help today, As one of Christ’s chosen Apostles, you remain a pillar and foundation of His Church on earth. You are counted we know, among the elders who always stand before God’s throne. From your place of glory we know you do not forget the needs and difficulties of Christ’s little ones here still struggling, like me, on the way home to God. Please intercede for me, gracious St. Jude, and be with me in my daily work and in all my necessities especially ___________. In Christ’s name, I appeal to you again today. Amen THE LITANY TO ST. FIFTH DAY
St. Jude, you witnessed the healing power of our Lord Jesus. You saw his compassion for the sick and dying. You yourself touched the sick, shared the sorrows of the mournful, and encouraged the despairing. You received this authority and healing power to work wonders, to cure the incurable, to make people whole. We ask you to intercede with our brother, Jesus, to send his saving grace to heal the sickness and suffering of ________ to uplift his/her hearts. Amen. THE LITANY TO ST. JUDE FOLLOWS.
SIXTH DAY:
St. Jude, through prayer you raised God for the wonderful works of Jesus. You asked God for the strength to meet the challenges of your apostolate. You put your trust in God’s mercy, believing firmly that God loved you and understood your joys and sorrows, your hopes and fears, and your triumphs and failures. You understood that nothing is impossible for God. I ask you to pray for me now before the most Most high so that I too might be filled with God’s will for me and faithfully place myself in God’s loving hands. Amen. THE LITANY TO ST. JUDE FOLLOWS.
SEVENTH DAY
St. Jude, you remained faithful to our Lord, even unto death. You gave your life so that others might live. You endured physical pain and emotional abandonment. But you gladly joined your sufferings to those of our savior, Jesus, and thus shared in the redemption of the world. I ask you now to intercede with our brother, Jesus Christ on my behalf, so that I, too, can find strength in the face of my suffering. Help me to trust in God and put my life in His hands. Amen. EIGHT DAY:
St. Jude, please assist me in difficult financial circumstances. I beg you to shine the light on the resources that I need to help meet my debts and satisfy my pressing obligations. NINTH DAY:
Saint Jude, we have also problems in our relationship. Beg almighty God to give us the light to see ourselves and each other as we really are. Help us to grow daily in self- knowledge and mutual love, while at the same time developing our potential to love and be loved. Help us, Saint Jude, to see and root out every manifestation of selfishness, vanity, and childish self-seeking–those hidden enemies of love and maturity. how can i be successful with the use o f novena in terms of education?
We were the poorest of family’s;ten children with no hope for an education.
My mother started her devotion to St Jude and what can I say. All of us college graduates with Masters degrees and educated in private Catholic schools.St Jude was on the job.I took my family on a pilgrimage to the national shrine of St Jude in South Chicago to honor our educational foster parent and my mother especially,was in extesy.
Today I am praying the novena to St J IDE on behalf of my brother who has Fallon away from the Catholic faith and I have faith that St Jude will help bring Arnold back to the Catholic faith.
l once used the prayer of saint JOSEPH OF CUPERTINO but l was not told to thank him after m y desire has been /fuffiled so what can l do?

I have never prayed a novena before, and since my situation is desperate, I felt this was the right one. I look at his picture and feel peace and trust. When I get paid, I am going to set up a monthly donation to St. Jude’s hospital to give back, and I will begin wearing a St. Jude necklace for everyone to see. My prayers have not been granted yet, but I will continue to pray the novena and put my faith in St. Jude and God until they see fit to answer my prayers.
I believe you may have a grammatical error in the second paragraph of the Litany. It now says “St. Jude, who after the profound grief which the death of your beloved Master cause you, had the consolation of beholding Him risen from the dead and of assisting at His glorious Ascension, pray for us!” The word “cause” is present tense but I believe it should be “caused”. Small point but it is a distraction from a beautiful prayer.

I have completed the novena for help with my 35 yo daughter who suffers from alcoholism and related problems. She has relapsed 3 or 4 times since finishing her first treatment program in March 2013. She is scheduled to return to treatment 5/21/13. I feel that the St Jude novena has helped her to decide to surrender and go back into treatment.

I already tried praying the Novena once before. At first, my mind was really telling my heart not to believe. But, since, I was really in a desperate situation (Family), I did it wholeheartedly. I would woke up very early in the morning to visit the church in other place and did the Novena, before going to work. I did it with all my heart and trust. Wow, I couldn’t believe it! i did pray the novena to st.jude for nine days but on the 8th day i was called for an employment offer. But later i was called by the same person saying i was unfortunate that my job had been given away. I was distresed but i know he will come to my rescue!
When I was unemployed I prayed the St Jude Novena, within 2 days I had interviews and success. Now I pray this Novena for a situation beyond my control and the control of many parents who face the nightmare of drug abuse in their homes and with their families…. I prayed the novena to St. Jude. The most amazing or rather strange thing God has made is that i had this book everywhere i went in my bag, like when i traveled to and from home during the holidays ,(I am a student at the University Of CapeTown). And i was asking myself why do i have this Old book with me all the time? There was no answer. So from last month, i suffered a Psychiatric headache before my last exam but i went to write the exam and managed to pass that one. throughout the holidays i was working as a vacation student at Eskom and didn’t go home. The pain in the head was still there everyday. and then after a month the school opened and then the pain was even worse. i couldn’t study nor concentrate. i went to the doctors, nurses but no help at all. They were suspecting maybe it’s stress or something of similar nature. That is when i started taking that Old book, written in My home language(Sesotho) and started to pray the Novena to St. Jude Thaddeus (on the 22nd of July 2013). By now, i can be able to study, go to class and concentrate on my maximum. the headache is still there but i could say it will be gone soon. i have trust in St. Jude and he helped me a lot. I will always pray to him and to the God our father. I need his intercessions as i was feeling down and depressed due to the problems i have had this year plus the headache again. i need to pass this semester to be able to graduate next year. i pray to St. Jude so that he may make everything possible. I am willing to work very hard in my academics and i need a lot of courage and motivation to achieve anything i need. it will be a great Joy to really get a degree in Electrical Engineering i am studying for in this Institution. St. Jude is a wonderful saint. The Novena prayer is truly a miracle prayer. I prayed for love and a wonderful man came into my life on the 9th day. He is everything I asked for. Thank you St. Jude. Please do not say this prayer in vain. Your prayers will be answered.
In January 2008 I got str.anded in a foreign land, my permited stay days was drawing to a close.I seriously faced the risk of imprisonment for overstaying.I had no money for my fares to go back home.I invoked St Jude as Patron of desperate situation.He helped me!Alas I did not say Thank you St Jude.However I have for the last 3 or so years caused St Jude’s name to be invoked & honoured every Sunday afternoon by The Divine Mercy Prayer group I lead here at our parish.Now I am in a very difficult debt for which I have to refund $6 500 or face imprisonment on 16 Oct.I have tried all efforts humanly possible to raise the money but nothing has come.So today 23rd Sept I realised I should ask St Jude thru this novena.Please help to pray & invoke his assistance for my desperate situation.There is much at stake for my prayer group, family, church & friends should I be taken away.Thank you St Jude for coming to our help all over the world.

Oh most holy apostle St. Jude Thaddeus, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered the beloved master into the hands of his enemies has cause you to be forgotten by many. but the church honors and envokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases and of things most despaired of. pray for me, i am so helpless and alone. intercede woth God for me that i may receive the consolation and succor of heaven in all necessities, tribulations and sufferings particularly (mention petition) and that i may praise God with you and all the saints throught eternity. i promise you oh blessed St. Jude to be ever mindful of this great favor granted to me by God and to always homor you as my special and powerful patron and to gratefully encourage devotion to you. Amen
Pray 6x a day and leave 9 copies at the church for 9 consecutive days… have faith, St. Jude is a loving Saint. Through His intercession, God will trully hear our hearts desire.
Regardless, if my pray is answered or not , I know God has a better plan than I do. My faith is strong and I know that God will show me the light and the way. Saying this pray for 9 days has made me see things differently from when I started. Sometimes it’s a perspective or outlook of the situation that is the blessing . Amen
